4th of July Win for Nicely at Circle City

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(July 3, 2021) – The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series made their second visit of the season to Circle City Raceway to celebrate the 4th of July. This was the second of three weekends on the schedule the series plans to visit the new facility on the Marion County Fairgrounds outside Indianapolis.

Eighteen cars signed in chasing the $2,000 to win payday. The action got underway with Allstar Performance qualifying. Tyler Nicely from Owensboro, KY was the overall fast qualifier with a lap of 14.389 seconds. The qualifying results set the stage for a pair of heat races.

Hypercoils Heat Race #1 went to fast qualifier Tyler Nicely. Tyler took the lead on lap one and led every lap. Past series champion Trent Young from Hopkinsville, KY finished in second. Brad DeYoung, Ian Keller and Will Bennett rounded out the top five.

In heat race #2 presented by Willy’s Carb and Dyno went to Bradley Jameson. The youngster held off series points leader Brain Shaw. Cole Parker, Garrett Jameson and Jason Highley all finished in the top five.

Seventeen cars started the feature event. Tyler Nicely took the race lead right away. A string of Quickcar yellows slowed the early stages of the event. AMS regulars Jason Highley and Richard Gibson both had issues early on and had to retire from the event.

On lap seven the caution flew once again for points leader Brian Shaw. Shaw made contact with the wall off turn four and that took him out of the event. After things got rolling again Tyler Nicely was able to hold on to the race lead for the remaining laps and pick up the victory. Bradley Jameson came home runner up and Trent Young rounded out the podium. Christopher Anstead was the hard charger of the event coming home in the ninth spot after starting sixteenth.

The next series events will take place next weekend at Moler Raceway Park on Friday July 9th in Williamsburg, OH. The event will pay $1,500 to win with a $1,000 to win Dash and $500 Heat winner bonuses. On Saturday July 10th, the series will run at Richmond, KY $5,000 to win event. For all the event info go to the Facebook Event page on the American Modified Series page. It will be updated with info as we close in on the event.
