Circle City Raceway Host to Indiana Midget Week

Circle City Raceway was host to the 2nd round out of 7 for the USAC Indiana Midget Week this past Monday evening, June 5th.

With 28 cars on the ground, the excitement began early in the evening when Kevin Thomas Jr. set the fastest qualifying time with the USAC National Midgets for the sixth straight season with a time of 12.385 seconds.

Some impressive heat races held 3 winners in Daison Pursley, Cannon McIntosh, & Logan Seavey.

The feature race was action packed to say the least, with 3 different drivers leading the last full lap they completed. Ultimately, Michael "Buddy" Kofoid won the feature, leading only the last 3 laps. This secured his first USAC Nos Energy Drink National Midget victory of the season. Following Kofoid was Jacob Denney in 2nd, Bryan Wiedeman in 3rd, Tanner Thorson in 4th, and Emerson Axsom in 5th.

Heading into Monday's race, Jacob Denney led the point standing and now with his 2nd place finish in Monday's race, he increased his lead in the overall point standing to 7.

Crown Vics were also in attendance Monday night as a support class. Nevertheless, they put on an amazing show as always! Through a tough race, Michael Cranmer brought home the $600 to win feature.
